IASS 2025 in Munich
Peripeteias, catastrophies, happy endings: Turning points in Nordic literature and culture
30 July–2 August 2025
It is our great pleasure to host the 35th Conference of the International Association for Scandinavian Studies (IASS) in Munich in summer 2025. The Institut für Nordische Philologie (LMU Munich) warmly invites you to join us at this conference.
The theme for the IASS 2025 is Peripeteias, catastrophies, happy endings: Turning points in Nordic literature and culture. The term peripeteia opens up a field of research that can be applied across genres and epochs, and which has implications for the way we see ourselves as scholars of literature. A detailed description of the topic and suggestions for possible panels and papers can be found in the attached document »Call for Papers«.
We are pleased to welcome you to the 35th IASS Conference, which will take place at Luisenstraße 33, 80333 Munich, Germany. To help you navigate the venue and its surroundings, we have provided three maps below:
- An overview map showing the conference venue, the location of the conference dinner, and the public reading event.
- A map of the immediate surroundings of the venue, including nearby public transport and access points.
- A detailed floor plan of the conference building to help you find your way inside.
We look forward to seeing you in Munich!
